| Features Acer notebook with 17" screen, AMD Turion 64 tl-56 processor, 2GB ram, 160 GB HD, Nvidia Geforce 8400m G 256 VGA, DVD burner, firewire, Windows Vista. Haven't used Vista, because it's too bloated. I installed Windows XP after I found the drivers for it. Currently it's running Ubuntu Linux 9.04 without any problems. Bought it in november 2007. ------------ Value for money Yeah it works great, and you almost couldn't get a notebook with better specs for that money at that time. ------------ Pros - Big and good screen - Dual processors, 64-bit - Lot of memory and HD-space - It's very stable - Has never let me down ------------ Cons - Came with Vista - Webcam hasn't ever worked for me (but I don't care, cause I don't use it) - It can get pretty hot (especially the videocard) - Not usable outside because of the reflections on the screen ------------ Customer Support n/a ------------ Overall Love this notebook and I would go crazy if it would die or get stolen. Works perfect on Ubuntu, battery is also pretty decent, although I always use it on AC power. I really would recommend this notebook (although there are better ones available now). | |
