| Features The starts with the introduction of Hans Landa (Christoph Waltz), a.k.a. the Jewhunter, who kills the Jew family Dreyfus, but a girl named Shosanna (Mélanie Laurent) succesfully escapes. A few years later she runs a cinema, and runs into a guy named Fredrick Zoller (Daniel Brühl), a war hero. Zoller takes interests in her, and manages to arrange a movie premiere at the cinema of Shosanna. Zoller is also the hero of the movie. All the major Nazi officers will be attending the premiere, so Shosanna makes a plan to kill the Nazis. 'The basterds' are a group of Jewish-American soldiers, with Aldo Raine (Brad Pitt) as their leader, who are a great fear to the Germans, scalping them when they're killed. The Basterds hear about the premiere and are involved in Operation Kino. The plan is to infiltrate at the movie premiere with help from Bridget Von Hammersmark (Diane Kruger) a well-known German actress, and blow up the whole thing, killing all the Nazis. ------------ Value for money Paid 8 euros for a 2,5 hour movie, that's not bad, is it? ------------ Pros - The dialogs are really well-thought and really are part of the movie, instead of time-fillers. - The music suites the movie. - Excellent camerawork, really detailed at some points. - Excellent acting, especially by Christoph Waltz and Brad Pitt ------------ Cons - Even though it was a 2,5 hour movie, I wouldn't mind stretching it more, focussing more on details. I really hope there will be an extended DVD version. ------------ Customer Support n/a ------------ Overall To be honest: it's one of the best movies I've ever seen, but I must say I'm not really a movie-person. However, I was really into the movie and it has to be one of the most thrilling movies I've seen. I really think this is a must-see movie. | |
